Ethical Decision Making in Substance Abuse Prevention
Overview/Audience
This is introductory material to the Ethical Decision-making Model and the Code of Ethical Conduct for Prevention Professionals designed for participants who are motivated to learn and apply an ethical decision making model and code of ethical conduct to their work in the substance abuse prevention and/or related fields.
Goals
To learn and apply the Ethical Decision-making Model and Code of Ethical Conduct in order to make ethical decisions in the substance abuse prevention and/or related fields.
Objectives
1. Define ethics.
2. Demonstrate awareness of ethical issues involved in prevention work.
3. Demonstrate awareness of how ethical issues can be resolved using a code of ethical conduct.
4. Demonstrate familiarity with critical ethical issues in prevention.
5. Demonstrate ability to apply an ethical decision making model in making decisions relating to critical ethical issues in prevention.
